ONE

Synopsis

A fall from more than five kilometres. One survivor. And a fight for life that should have been impossible. On 24 August 1981, newlyweds Larisa and Vladimir Savitsky board a flight from Komsomolsk on the Amur to Blagoveshchensk. Just thirty minutes before landing, their civilian AN 24 aircraft collides with a Soviet TU 16 bomber more than five kilometres above the ground. The aircraft breaks apart in midair, sending the wreckage crashing into the impenetrable Siberian wilderness. No one is expected to survive. But Larisa opens her eyes. Badly injured and completely alone, she finds herself stranded deep in the taiga, hundreds of kilometres from civilisation. With no food, no help and no guarantee that anyone will find her, she must battle her injuries, hunger, freezing temperatures and fear. Her only goal is to stay alive. Inspired by the incredible true story of a woman who survived the impossible.
